Wilton and Temple Historical Societies to host ‘The Varnum Saga’ presentation, September 14
WILTON – A presentation on “The Varnum Saga” will be hosted by the Wilton Farm and Home Museum and the Temple Historical Society on Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wilton Historical Society on Canal Street in Wilton. The speaker will be Beverly Deane Knowles, a retired teacher and author. Knowles’ grandfather wrote a manuscript called “The Varnums and their Pioneer Neighborhood” in 1949 based on stories he had heard growing up in Temple. New research has since discovered many mistakes in the manuscript. Unfortunately, some of the misinformation has been passed down and accepted as truth. The
