Used clothing collection bin located at Avon Town Hall
AVON – A large collection bin outside the Avon Town Hall is for discarded clothing items, in an effort to keep those items out of the landfill and give them a second life. Avod town officials worked with Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments (AVCOG) and Apparel Impact to set up the collection bin. Local thrift shops, such as the United Methodist Economic Ministry and Thrifty Chicks, will accept donations for resale in the shop, but they are limited to items in good, usable condition, and end up throwing away items that should have been disposed of instead of donated.
