SKOWHEGAN – A group of developers have joined together to provide COVID-19 grants for small businesses in Skowhegan.
The pandemic negatively impacted small businesses.
Four business leaders decided to form the Community Economic Resource Council.
The CERC raises money to provide grants to Somerset County businesses.
“We received applications from a wide range of stuff, some as payroll, rent, utilities, and a lot of it really was new expenses for safety protocols,” said Christian Savage, executive director of the Somerset Economic Development corporation.
The financial assistance will be used to help businesses get back on their feet.
Some of the grants will be distributed Friday.
