Nyle Systems to expand with grant money

BREWER – Nyle Systems is a company that builds lumber kilns, food dehydrators and heat pump water heaters.

“The lumber kilns we’ve been building for over 40 years now, and we have since kind of integrated into other markets with the heat pump water heating and the food dehydrating,” said Jacob Keniston, production manager for Nyle Systems.

Nyle was awarded a grant of $142,981 from the Maine Technology Asset Fund.

“We had to submit our application with an outline of the building improvements, RND projects and equipment that we projected that we were going to be expected to buy,” said Jacob King, financial controller for Nyle Systems.

The employees said the grant will allow Nyle to grow.

“We’re using it for some building expansion plans,” Keniston said. “We’re gonna double our production space here, double our office space. It’s gonna allow us to add more personnel, and it’s to allow much better equipment.”

“We’ve wanted to be able to grow this facility out, expand it to allow us to add testing capabilities that we haven’t had before and allow us to really excel in each division,” said Jeremy Howard, co-president for Nyle Dry Kilns.

King said Nyle pushes to make energy efficient products for its customers.

“Helping them in their own businesses save money and also at the same time, becoming conscious of our environment, making the world a better place to live for everybody,” King said.

They are looking forward to starting the expansion.

“We’re pretty excited that we’re gonna get to grow and add more jobs to the community and really be part of becoming one of the larger manufacturing facilities in central Maine,” Howard said.
