Bangor Kidnapping Arrest
BANGOR — An arrest has been made in a suspected kidnapping.
At about 10 p.m. On Saturday, the Bangor Police Department received multiple calls for what appeared to be an abduction.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing a man force a woman into a U-Haul rental van in the parking lot of target at 60 long view drive.
” the van left the parking lot and proceeded up Stillwater avenue followed by a couple of the people who had been in the parking lot who were giving officers directions as to where the car was going,” says Jason Mc’Ambley, the public information officer for Bangor PD.
Officers later spotted and perused the van traveling southbound on I-95 and then stopped it on I-395 near exit 2.
The driver of the van, Colby Cooper, was taken into custody and is facing charges of kidnapping, eluding, and domestic violence assault.
The victim was treated by Bangor fire department rescue for minor injuries.
