Fire displaces 7 people
BANGOR- Authorities are investigating what caused a fire in Bangor last night that displaced 7 people.
Crews were called to 18 Fremont street just before 8 pm.
Bangor Assistant Fire Chief Chandler Corriveau said when they arrived they found a bedroom in the back in fire.
Several departments were called in to assist because of the difficulty in reaching the fire.
Four adults and three children were living in the home.
All of them were able to escape uninjured.
” One of the biggest takeaways- there was somebody here and they had working smoke detectors and that gave them early notification that there was a fire here and I can’t stress the importance of having working smoke detectors,” said Corriveau.
The Red Cross is assisting the people living in the home.
Corriveau said crews were able to save the main portion of the home and personal belongings.
The fire marshals office has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
