How to audition for American Idol in Maine
STATEWIDE – The search is on for the next American Idol, and they’re making a virtual stop in our state Thursday, Sept. 3.
American Idol went from the stage, to the comfort of the contestants home last season. Idol’s Senior Supervising Producer, Patrick Lynn, said he knew the Idol bus wasn’t making it’s trip across the country this time around.
“The basic concept is we wanted to mirror exactly what it is like if you were to show up to the American Idol bus,” Lynn said. “I’m bringing in former idols and playing music and trying to treat it like a fun atmosphere. As well as answering questions like, ‘What should I sing?’ ‘How long is this going to take?”
From your laptop, phone or tablet, Lynn said the show continues to break innovative boundaries with its first ever virtual, nationwide search.
“If you’ve ever thought maybe one day I’ll try out from American Idol, this is it. It literally doesn’t get any easier than this,” Lynn said.
There are still time slots available for Thursdays auditions, according to Lynn.
“We’re going to all these states virtually but you can come on any day that we’re actually holding auditions,” said Lynn. “This in particular one is geared towards the folks that are up in Maine so now’s your chance, give it a shot, come on by and say hi.”
