Man seriously injured in Corinth rollover accident

CORINTH – A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a rollover in Corinth.

Lt. James Ellis at the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said around 7:40 p.m. emergency crews responded to Route 15, also known as Main Street, in Corinth, just past the intersection with Hudson Hill Road.

Ellis said a GMC pickup truck was traveling north on Route 15 when it veered off the side of the road and rolled multiple times.

“The lone male occupant was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center,” Lt. Ellis said.

Investigators are still working to determine why the driver left the road.

The vehicle crashed through the “Corinth” sign on the right side of the road.

Route 15 was closed for a few hours while authorities reconstructed the scene.
