Man throws drugs on roof just prior to arrest

BREWER– Brewer Police have arrested a man for drug furnishing in a drug free zone.

Two officers spotted Abraham Frederick, 37, who had two active warrants for his arrest.

The officers approached Frederick on Rinfret Street and told him to stop.

They say that’s when Frederick began reaching inside his pants and allegedly threw packaged drugs onto the roof of an apartment building as the officers approached him.

Police say he was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

The officers used a ladder to retrieve the drugs that tested positive for fentanyl.

The incident occurred directly across from a playground on a Brewer Housing Authority property.

It was approximately 90 feet from a sign that posted the area as a Drug Free Zone which calls for enhanced penalties for drug trafficking.

Frederick is charged with aggravated furnishing drugs, refusing to submit to arrest and falsifying physical evidence.
