Parking bans in Augusta and Bangor
AUGUSTA– The Augusta Police would like to release a public service announcement to notify commuters, patrons, business owners, residents and visitors of Augusta that there is a Winter Parking Ban in effect from January 23rd 2023 at 4:00 pm through 12:00 pm on (Tuesday) January 24th 2023.
This Winter Parking Ban is city-wide. No vehicles shall be parked on any city street.
A winter parking permit does not exempt you from this ban.
Vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.
BANGOR– There will be a Downtown Parking Ban in effect from 11:00 pm through 6:00 am each night this week through Friday morning, January 27, 2023, to allow for snow management and removal operations.
During a downtown parking ban, vehicles may not be parked on city streets in the Downtown Parking Management District between the hours of 11:00 pm and 6:00 am. Vehicles left on the street during a parking ban may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
Please remember, there is also a seasonal parking ban on city streets outside of the Downtown Parking Management District between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 am through March 31, 2023. Vehicles left on the street during overnight hours may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
The Odd/Even Parking Rule for daytime parking will also be in effect between the hours of 6:00 am and 12:00 midnight, through 3/31/2023. If a street outside the Downtown Parking Management District is not already regulated by parking signage, parking will be allowed on the even side of the street on even calendar days and on the odd side of the street on odd calendar days. It’s easy to remember because the even side of the street has even house numbers and the odd side of the street has odd house numbers. Vehicles parked on the wrong side of the street or contrary to parking signage may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
