Photos: Relive the 2023 Bangor waterfront concert season
All summer long, fans streamed into the Maine Savings Amphitheater to check out shows from nearly 100 different artists on 21 concert bills in total, one of the biggest lineups the Bangor venue has yet seen.
Bangor photographer Jodi Devost was on hand to take photos of nearly every concert for the Bangor Daily News, and both she and her husband, fellow photographer Rodney Devost, captured the visual elements of each experience in great detail.
In fact, we only missed four concerts in total — country artists Lee Brice and Cole Swindell, alt-rock icons Weezer and Future Islands, boy band Big Time Rush and children’s entertainers Kidz Bop.
Here’s your chance to relive some of the most exciting moments from this year in live music on the Bangor waterfront. With one concert already announced for 2024 — singer-songwriter Niall Horan on June 19 — and many more set to be announced in the coming months, we’re already excited about what next year will bring.
Among the most popular shows each year at the amphitheater are from country artists, and this year was no exception. There were a multitude of country, bluegrass and country-pop artists, including Kane Brown, Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, the Chicks, Hank Williams and Old Crow Medicine Show.

The more laid-back and groovy vibes of jam, blues and reggae bands are also perennially popular on the waterfront. This year, we heard music from the likes of the Dave Matthews Band, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Ziggy Marley and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.

From day one, the venue has also showcased classic rock and pop artists from many decades, which this year included James Taylor, Santana, Train, the Lumineers and the Goo Goo Dolls.

And, of course, Mainers like to rock. Metal, hard rock and punk rock bands were well-represented, including concerts from Godsmack, Nickelback, Pantera, Papa Roach, Shinedown and the Dropkick Murphys
