Swim for free on opening day thanks to campaign donors to the Friends of Dakin Pool
BANGOR – The Friends of Dakin Pool will cover the admission fee on the opening day of Dakin Pool, Friday, June 23. Thanks to the donors to Jump In! The Campaign to Support Dakin Pool, the Friends organization is covering the cost to swim.
The mission of the Friends of Dakin Pool is to raise private funds to support the publicly owned Dakin Pool in Bangor and to work cooperatively with city officials to help maintain this recreational gem for children and families.

Not every kid in Bangor has a pool in their backyard. Dakin Pool is the “family pool” for Bangor’s east side. The campaign goal is $160,000 and supports three major areas – capital improvements, services, and operations. To date, donors have contributed $33,200.
