42% of Maine is still in a severe drought

According to the US Government Drought Monitor, since 2000, the longest duration of drought (D1-D4) in Maine lasted 110 weeks beginning on June 19, 2001 and ending on July 22, 2003. The most intense period of drought occurred the week of January 08, 2002 where D3 affected 61.67% of Maine land.
