Bangor officials give update on school reopening plan

BANGOR – Bangor school officials met on Wednesday to discuss updates to the school’s reopening.

Currently as the plan stands, parents had until Aug. 13 to decide whether their children were going to enroll in in-person learning five days a week, hybrid instruction where students attend two to three days a week in person and the other days are remote or full remote learning all five days of the week.

“Some of the changes that have occurred, have been the inclusion or updates of phys ed, music and band, performing arts, emergency drills, the types of PPE that we use as well as cleaning and disinfecting,” said Bangor School Department Assistant Superintendent Dr. Kathy Harris-Smedberg. “School meals have been updated as well as transportation. We have more information on hand hygiene and the wearing of masks.”
