Christmas caroling teachers welcome students to school
HERMON–Teachers at Hermon Middle School are in the holiday spirit, so much so they can’t help but sing.
The teachers are greeting students all this week by serenading them with Christmas carols when they arrive. The educators say they thought it would be a nice way to start out the holiday week and the students seem to agree.
“I think it is really awesome that they’re doing this for the kids. It also brings a lot of Christmas cheer,” explained 7th grader Natalie Darrigo.
“I sent out an email to staff to see if they’d join us and it’s taken off,” said 8th grade social studies teacher Jonathon Rice.
“We thought maybe we’d get a few people to join us out here but as you can see we got a whole bunch,” added Melissa Biehn, Hermon Middle School dean of students. “We thought it would be a fun thing to do with vacation coming up.”
Some of the songs students have been welcomed with include ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘Let it Snow’ and ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.’
