Good Shepherd Food Bank temporarily closed

HAMPDEN — The Good Shepherd Food Bank in Hampden has temporarily suspended operations.

An employee there tested positive for coronavirus, according to a statement sent out by the organization Tuesday afternoon.

That employee was last on site on Sept. 1.

The statement said any employees and volunteers who may haven been exposed have been contacted.

The Hampden location will be closed for two days for a deep cleaning.

The Auburn location remains open.

From the onset of the pandemic, the food bank has increased its food distribution statewide and remained operational, servicing a network of more than 500 partner agencies, which include food pantries, meal sites, school partners and health care centers.
