Gov. Mills reminds Mainers of health care enrollment deadline
AUGUSTA — Gov. Mills is urging Mainers who lack affordable health care to sign up for coverage through the state’s health insurance marketplace before Thursday’s deadline.
Thursday is the last day to enroll to avoid a gap in coverage in 2023.
Those who sign up by midnight 12/15 will have coverage effective on Jan. 1st.
The governor encouraged those who are uninsured to check their eligibility and enroll for coverage by visiting coverME.gov.
“I know everyone in Maine is busy trying to get everything done that they can and continue with the higher costs of everything from eggs to heating oil. But this is an important thing and can save you a lot of money come Jan. 1st,” the governor said.
If you miss the deadline, you can sign up by Jan. 15th in order to have coverage starting on Feb. 1st.
