Home damaged in Hancock fire

HANCOCK – More than a dozen fire departments were called to respond to a fire on Mud Creek Road in Hancock Friday evening.

According to a dispatcher at the Hancock County Regional Communications Center, it was about 6:15 p.m. when they got a call about a fire at a three-story home and attached garage on Mud Creek Road.

We’re told the garage is destroyed, and the home was also damaged.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Hancock, Franklin, Sullivan, Sorrento, Gouldsboro, Winter Harbor, Lamoine and Ellsworth responded to the scene, and other area departments were called to provide additional coverage.

Mud Creek Road had to be shut down as authorities responded.

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating an exact cause.
