Maine home values remain strong

STATEWIDE– Home values in Maine remain strong according to the Maine Association of Realtors.

They say the buyers of single family homes in Maine are still encountering a lower than normal inventory of homes available for purchase.

According to Maine Listings, 1,289 homes changed hands in November.

That’s a decrease of more than 28% from a year ago.

The median sales price reached 325,000 dollars, which is up more than 8% from a year ago.

Madeleine Hill, 2022 President of the Maine Association of Realtors, says while demand remains steady for Maine’s tight “For Sale” inventory, increased mortgage interest rates coupled with the typical holiday slowdown have impacted the market.
