Pedestrian dies after teen driver struck her in Windham

A Windham woman died Wednesday after a teen driver struck her while she was out for a walk.

Deborah Livengood, 74, was walking north on Swett Road, near Cartland Road, in Windham about 11:05 a.m. when she was hit by a 2020 Toyota Tacoma driven by a 16-year-old boy, according to the Windham Police Department.

Livengood was taken to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries, Windham police said Wednesday.

The crash remains under investigation, but police said that driver inattention may be a factor.
